A quote from the article "Learn What Makes Your Boxer Tick So You Can Train Him Better" by Kim Campbell Thornton in the issue Training Secrets for Boxers:

“The typical Boxers I see in training classes are happy, excitable dogs, especially when young,” says dog trainer Kim Toepfer of Fresno, California. “Boxers bounce, clown and rarely take anything seriously — including training — and they can be a bit mischievous. Boxers require a good deal of physical exercise and mental stimulation, but clever minds and loyalty make them very satisfying companions when those needs are met.”
Lucy and I learned many things during puppy socialization class. One of the best benefits in enrolling Lucy is that she was socialized to other dogs, which took some time but I believe that this was very important and if we hadn't gone to the classes she would be a very different dog today, shy and extremely timid. We also learned sit, down, and stay. We are still working on "come," which I hope to continue working on in basic manners classes. Kim was wonderful and even invited Lucy and I back for a second round of puppy socialization classes since it took Lucy a few classes before she opened up to the other dogs! - A.S.
Testimonials:
Puppy Play was wonderful for Rommie and me. The socialization skills that he acquired as a result of this class has made him a welcome guest with other dogs. The time spent in this class was a valuable investment in my puppy's social skills and our lives. Rommie is comfortable in various settings with other dogs and has expanded socializing with all of our frields (human and their four-legged furry children). Thank you, Kim!! - V.K.
I had so much fun. Cindy did too!!! Thanks Kim for all the hope in training Cindy out of her fear of large dogs. So looooking forward to class. Cindy won a portable cloth travel kennel which we needed. And she also won a grooming table. Thank you Jesus and Fresno Dog Training. We were blessed. - M.C.
