Reactive Dog Classes
A reactive dog is not hard to spot. These dogs may lunge and bark at other dogs, people, objects or even unusual sounds when out for a walk. At home, reactive dogs may jump on, growl at or stare at visitors. Some reactive dogs will bite if warning signals are not heeded. If your dog is reactive, we understand the stress, embarrassment and anxiety it creates for the owner. Allow us to help with the assistance of a professional, experienced trainer and our supportive group of owners just like yourself.
There is no need to feel uncertain about how to handle your dog's behavior. We will teach you the skills you need to manage the behavior to help improve your dog's confidence in new situations, prevent unnecessary stress and we will show you how to combat the reactive behavior if it does occur. Rehabilitating a reactive dog takes time, we can help you to be sure that you have the necessary tools to counter-condition and desensitize your dog to his own, specific triggers.
We have a successful, safe, scientifically-based rehabilitation program for reactive dogs. It consists of 2 private lessons and then 4 group classes. Additional group classes are available for as long as you feel it is needed to improve your dog's behavior. If you would like to enroll your dog in this program, please fill out the questionnaire.
